Will 265/70 R17 rub with spacers?

Hello everyone!

I currently run 265/70 Cooper STTs on standard 17'' wheels for offroading during summer (so slightly oversized diameter) and standard Pirelli Ice & Snow during winter.

In order to be able to use Pewag snowchains on all four wheels during winter I am considering to install spacers (60mm per axle). I am however concerned that the offroad tires will rub in the wheel arches with the spacers.

Can anyone confirm that they do rub or do not rub?

Thanks!
Cheers,
Florian

Look the wheel arch to the rear (of the front ones) you will see a chassis extension (Only on 07 onwards) this is the bit that rubs

Spacers make it worse

Thanks Ken! Thumbs Up

I do own a 08 model and your picture clearly shows that is is not going to work with spacers.

So I guess I will mount spacers during Winter to allow me using my Pewags and remove them again for Summer. Idea

Cheers,
Florian
