From Willy Eckerslike (Whitby area) to Luxembourg...ALL DONE |
|
...and as many points in between as necessary...
So lets see how good the courier network is I'm helping to organise this on behalf of one of the forum's newer members who is also based in Luxembourg (user name charles - no prizes for guessing his real name)
4 AT2's / 18" rims need to get from Willy Eckerslike (Pete) over to Luxembourg. This may have to be done in stages so all 4 don't necessarily need to arrive on the same day.
Pete currently has the set available in the Whitby area.
Tanters has some space, probably not for all four. And Tanters will be in the UK, coming this way, very soon.
There is also the option of some storage in East London (Isle of Dogs) for a drop off / pick up - but this has the small problem of requiring them to be carried up a flight of stairs.
Over to the courier network...
(Feel free to PM me with any options / questions as well as Charles) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."

Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

J, is that Whitby, North Yorkshire?
I'll be coming across the M4 if you can get them down that region and we can make a start getting them over A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Hallo
First I will thank JF LUX for the organization for the transport of the 4 wheels.
I’m very surprised how the Disco3 courier can work.
I have no problem to drive to France, Belgium or Netherland to do the last way.
Because I’m working on 3 shifts I have to look on my work plan before I can confirm my travel.
So let me know how I can help.
Thanks to all.
Charles

Bumping up the line...
Any takers ?
ayrshiredisco - is your option still on or have we missed it ?
tanters will be passing through South England in about a week (I think). The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

I am in Holland in August but I am not sure how much room we will have as I only have roof bars and no expo rack, plus we have a dog with us.
If somebody can lend me a roof rack I can definitely do it.

I can hold them in the South East if someone can get them down to this neck of the woods? I'm in Crawley tomorrow and on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week so if anyone heading Southish is going to pass withi 50 miles or so I can pop out to meet. Or is anyone passing by a member who'll be at the SE meet, then I can meet them on the Wednsday to collect?
Or perhaps someone is heading towards Yeovil between now and Tuesday afternoon, then I could pick them up for Tanters to collect Wed/Thur if that's when he passes through? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

To courier anywhere in the UK is £45 might be better to pay the money and get them somewhere on Tanters' route, the wheels tyres are a good price to start with so won't be paying over the odds. Club Pie n Pea

DOn't think so - stuff has gone to Italy and other places south.
One leg I was involved in earlier this year was:
New Forest (MrH) to Wales (Bala)
Wales to Belgium (Gent)
Gent to Prague
And Charles picked up his RLD sliders and front plate on Friday - North UK to Rotterdam; 3am start for Charles Lux to Rotterdam...then back again... (He's caught the D3 bug... ) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
