Wiltshire Sunday 21/09/2014
Went out into Deepest Wiltshire for a quiet off road and picnic.
It started off in the top picture ripping off the back bumper on the OS.
Then some horrendous battle scratches after pulling out a D1.
But they all got polished out.......(kind of - pic to come)
After all the worrying and a good polishing!! Back on the 19 inch wheel

Dunc,
Some are gravelled but they are wearing away.
The reason we went down was it was the last weekend before the Ridgeway closes.
Put it this way two of the lanes we did - I though I would not get down them and also there are some scratchy lanes - wait to see if my D3 shines tomorrow and if it does then there is no probs with scratches.
Was a good day so well worth it! And the D3 was excellent - did what it said on the tin.

Army have been making a fair few changes on Plain itself especially round firing ranges like larkhill.
Mostly gravelled and lots of new fencing up to keep people out of fire zones. Fair few lanes have been closed that went into ranges but have been replaced by some permissive byways which probably make more sense. Fairly certain track down to overlook the tank range is one that has been closed. Lanes down from barbury castle still not gravelled.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Dunc,
Yeah maybe worth it I may tag along but we did not go to the plain!
We stayed up in the North Ogbourne/Albourne (there is a nice pub here).

What rims and tyres are you running? Looks like 17" rims, but what size tyre and make?
Thanks

John,
They certainly are - running Cooper ST discovery AT 245/70R17.....
I only use them off road generally but give same dimensions as the 255/55/R19 I run on the motorway.

I’m thinking of going to 17†for off road, as my 19†are not working for me off road. I tried GG AT’s and they were not good in mud or traction is some cases, and my Duratrac’s only have 2 ply walls, so cut easily, and also puncture to easily.
I think I might try the Cooper ST Discovery, but means I need go back to standard brakes from my Brembo’s.
Thanks
John
