Some great pics there, as it was organised would it have been suitable for a beginner?

As I was following I have no idea where we were. I'll look at the gpx and try to work it out. Next time I will turn geotagging on on the camera, that will make it much easier!
Yes it would be suitable for beginners. If you get into trouble there is always someone to pull you out. Apart from the modified 110, all vehicles were our daily drivers so none of us wanted to do anything that would do damage.

The weekend started and ended in Devizes. We stayed in the Travelodge, all went out for dinner locally. But I am sure there will be campsite nearby too.
I will try to do it again in the summer as I have one friend who wants to come along, but we will camp instead. I'll put a note up here too as I think there will be interest.

Ho Ho ! if you intend going on the Plain in the Summer make sure your windows and any other orifice is closed tight and make sure your filters are up to it
As can be seen in the posted pictures the Plain is all mud and is from November until about April/May, the rest of the time it is a complete dust bowl.
If you intend to travel in Convoy make sure you are the leader !!!!
good luck.
