Winch kit

Hi guys, some assistance please,

Is the winch fitted to the LR3, part number VUB501470, made up of the mount, and the warn 9.5 XP, seen here http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/95xp_winch.shtml , is anyone aware that it is any different or a hybrid model? Was wondering with the battery setup, whether they include an isolator as standard and whether the winch has the standard electrics or the MOSFET system, whatever that does Question Question Question

The winch appears to be the standard item, not sure on the MOSFET control. it's isolated by means of a solenoid which has an ignition feed, this isn't activated until the controller is plugged in though, it's designed for the standard battery fitment - i'll be adding an Optima yellow top for it though

thanks TFC, can you tell me where the control box is mounted? where do you plug the controller in, as such, through the grill etc.

The control box is mounted on the rear of the steel bumper (the one behind the plastic cover) and the contoller socket is mounted on the winch bracket near the drive engage / disengage lever of the winch itself.
You can download the fitting instructions from the ownerinfo site, fitting is relatively easy as long as you don't mind taking a drill, hammer and hacksaw to your new Disco3 Shocked if you have front PDC, and the dealer fits the winch, they will disable it using T4 ..... there is a workaround however (although you'll need the dealer to turn them back on)

Slimer has one too as he keeps getting stuck. Even tried to winch off my rear once but was pulling me down with him Wink

Should've attached it to your Disco3 then - not your belt, I know you're carrying a few extra pounds but........ Rolling Eyes
