Hi all,
I had my windscreen replaced in december (at Carglass).
The guy who fitted it (on my front drive) told me he could not get the cover, that goes over the mirror 'foot' (attached to the glass), to fit. He cut off a bit so it would fit, but it was not sitting flush to the windscreen.
The mirror also sits higher up, the top is almost in line with the headlining now. I think it is 3-4 cm higher now. Which I like because the view I get is less obstructed by the rear view mirror.
I have had them order an OEM one at my own dealer though, as I want the cover to sit right. The OEM windscreen came and, according to the fitters, it is the same and has the mirror mounting point at exactly the same place. It came with the foot covers that I have seen at the dealer too, but these don't fit on my mirror.
Can anyone tell me if there are more than one mirror design for the chromatic rv mirror with rain sensor? I cannot seem to get a correct cover now.
(Also going back to my dealer this week but they are only going to look, as they have not fitted the thing.)
regards,

Got ours booked in tomorrow.....mixed feelings from these posts!
I guess I will soon find out if leaks, the auto lights and wipers work. The heated screen is more of a challenge unless we get a frosty day?
I need to check the mirror, trim and extra wind noise, I had not thought about these issues.
Anything else?
Cheers
Pete

I checked if the registration number is still visible (left side lower windscreen)... Don't know how it is fixed there.

had mine replaced last month with Autoglass. They sent 2 enginners as they said it was a large piece of glass and to fit it correclty it needed to engineers. It has pilkington stamped on it. They did a really great job. Perfect fit and left my car spotless. It only took them 24 hours to come after my call. Cost me £60 as my excess from my insurance policy. I am very satisfied with both the product and the workmanship. Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic
