Winter Break - Advice sought |
|
SWMBO has decided that due to no rellies coming to stay over X-Mas we can raid my Defner fund & go away, family of 6 (there goes my galv chassis) 2 adult, 4 kids (2x 11, 9 & 7 years of age) so far two trains of thought:
Winter Sun
Fairly clued up here as i'll be intending to get wet & dive, have a few ideas in the mix already.
Northern Lights/Santa
This is where i need some input as i have no knowledge of the countries involved apart from a few trips to Norway & Finland to see friends many years ago.
TIA. Paul.

You know im a big fan of Iceland
Plenty of good places and trips and you could do a few days at Rango hotel or blue lagoon hotel and a few days in Reykavik👍
Recommend the Borg hotel or Radisson Blue in the heart of the town
Trips wise -golden circle, whale watching, luxury northern lights, blue lagoon- tours all booked via grey line tours in Reykavik ....................................................................................................
If my wife ever sells my stuff for what she thinks I paid for them, you lot are gonna get some bargains!

Better still Paul,
Payback time, go and visit the rellies and keep the chassis fund stashed away.
Eat their food, drink their wine, beer, alcohol and let your kids run riot in their pad.
Maybe then they'll reconsider coming to stay for a while

Alan - my folks can no longer fit us all in which is why they head here.
I'm easy on destination, think SWMBO wanting sunshine (at least seems to be concentrating search in that direction Paul.

For cost Algarve is unbeatable IMO, T shirt and shorts is all you will need, for more sun, activity, and money Canary Isles. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Carrie an would be my choice, SWMBO found a deal for Dubai & I know two dive ops I could use so that's looking favourable at the mo Paul.

Split the forces Paul, you and twins to one rellie wife and the other 2 to another. Less stress save money for galv chassis. Let someone else feed them for a change The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Just got back from Dubai and it was a great trip. Really warm 35/36 degrees and didn't see a cloud for 8 days. It's coming into their peak season now. Worth a look In my opinion. Today is the oldest you've been and the youngest you'll ever be again.
