Wireless Headphones
Does anybody know if it is possible to use the IR headphones off a RR on the D3? I wondered if there was a plug in IR transmitter dongle or something. Mine has got ones with the cord and darling daughter keeps getting the wires trapped in the door and they are starting to split and will likely fail soon. Sound quality doesn't have to be brilliant for her Mr. Men and Tinkerbell DVD's so I'm not bothered if technically the Harman Kardon corded ones are better. Failing that, has anybody any experience of replacing the cord on these things?

After posting the above, I Googled "IR in car headphones" and found headphones that the seller says work with most DVD screens that output an IR signal. It hadn't occurred to me that the screens would have a built in IR transmitter. After reading a post on a different thread that suggested the dvd equipped headrests without grab handles were the RR ones does this mean the screens are already giving out an IR signal and all I would need to do would be to buy the IR cans? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Wiggs, I have the factory fitted DVD with two rear screens in the headrests which comes with two sets of Harman Kardon corded headphones. It's an 09 model year. Cheers.

I'm up in the Newcastle area but thanks for the offer. There are a couple of sets of RR ones on e-bay ending in a couple of days so I was hoping I could find out by then and make a bid. If the price stays low enough I might just buy them anyway, if they do work I can add to the knowledge of the Discoverati, if they don't work I can always sell 'em on e-bay
