wobble nuts - new one on me

Well I thought I'd seen or heard of most things, but wobble nuts - never. (and its not an April fools thing either)

It seems that these are wheel nuts that let you fit a wheel with a slightly different PCD (say a 120mm PCD wheel on a 118mm Hub)

god knows what they run like - wobbly? Rolling with laughter

I could do with some of those, I'm trying to put larger wheels on my boat trailer which has a 4" pcd, all the larger wheels have a 100mm pcd, where did you see them?

Thanks Al,

" These nuts have been designed with a floating washer attached, which can move approximately 1-1.5mm in a 360 degree circumference. This allows a wheel of correct centre bore size (hub centric) to fit several different PCD applications whilst still keeping the nut centralised and parallel within the recess pocket of the wheel avoiding cross threading the stud. Also known as wobble nuts. "

Not sure how much that washer would move after several dips in the oggin, ok I always hose the trailer down afterwards but don't think I like the idea of those washers corroding into place and whatever the consequences of that would be. Anyone have any experience of them?

My lad has them on this boy racer Punto, it allows as said the fitting of a different PCD, in his case 15" Vauxhall rims onto Fiat hubs.

I would of thought they would be banned, but apparently not.

I wouldn't trust them on a heavy off-road vehicle like the D3.

They might be fine for a light hatchback like a Saxo but for a heavy off roader such as the D3 I'd stay well clear.
