Won’t inject!! (Does now) trigger wheel out 2-3 degrees

Hi, I have a 2.7 tdv6 that won’t start, borrowed snap on code reader only fault is egr but that’s blanked so don’t see how that can be related,

Iv had a injector put externally plugged in with fuel supply and there’s nothing so clearly won’t start, I have 48,000+- from the hpp and fuel is being delivered to the rails but the Injector isn’t firing,

Full story is got a low mileage tdv6 fitted new crank it snapped, that engines ducked bough another with “fueling” problems, came bare fitted my injectors and hpp which worked prior to the low mileage engine going bang,

Same loom same injectors same pump..
No fuel errors
Only egr error
Any help appreciated because I’m stumped at the moment

If there is a history of fuelling problems on an engine... and you rebuild such a engine/use it as a basis, I would always change the trigger wheel and crank sensor... in the first place..

Since you did use the proven top-end parts allready, I can only think of the bottom parts as first suspects...

Just having a RPM readout may be not enough... says nothing about correct timing..

I have run mine out of fuel twice now ( fuel gauge problems) but I have found I have to reset the low pressure fuel pump with code reader as it goes in a protection mode.

Does nor show as a fault so might be worth a look.

Small update, it is now injecting fuel but will not fire up, turns out my brother only tightened the rail pipes up by hand and I was loosing pressure which is why it wouldn’t inject, my own fault for not double checking,

It’s now trying to start but won’t so going to pull the engine out again and replace the rear trigger wheel, sounds as if it’s injecting at the wrong time, the timing is 100% correct all the pins etc go into place only other thing is if the lobes have spun on the cam but I imagine it would make nasty noises if that was the case.
Starting to get really annoyed with it now Laughing Laughing

These don’t like to start in a hurry.

I would keep trying a little longer.

So took the plunge and removed engine for the 1000th time and the trigger wheel was 2-3 degrees out so I’m guessing that’s where my problem is.. will find out tomorrow Thumbs Up I’ve added a photo bare in mind the locating pin on the tool is tapered
