Please advise me? Got an 06 disco 3 tdv6 HSE all whistles and bells ex dealer car with just over 48k on it, jumped in it yesterday fro school run and msg centre informed all Special Programmes had been turned off ( pity cos' I enjoy Ceebeebies on TV / DVD player whilst stuck in early/ mid/ late morning rush hour on a130/a13/m25 take your pick. anyway back to problem in hand) this quickly developed into losing all suspension and msg centre told me in no uncertain terms to lower speed to 30mph at this point we started kangarooing gently down the road. I stopped the vehicle and went through start up routine still no Special Programmes but at least suspension seemed to resolve itself...for about half a mile and then it went again, redid stop start procedure and it behaved itself for rest of journey. Late on went back to car Special Programmes now functioning hooray, ( upset I had missed that morning's Ceebeebies though!!) but suspension def' not right, it shows normal mode but Disco is def' riding very high and does not feel good!!
Any pointers please before I get stuck in the warranty 'groundhog day'??
Great Forum by the way
regards

Hi Foxy
Exactly same problem here with my '07 model.
Happened about 4 weeks ago for 2 days and then all perfect till yesterday.
I live in the Scottish Island so a bit far from any service centres. Trying to take it to Glasgow on Thursday for someone to look at it!

Hi Paul
let me know how you get on? Perhaps I was sold the fairweather model and it doesn't like the cold we've been having lately !!

I called LR Customer Care who diverted me to LR Assistance.
Car how now been picked up on the Island and on route to Taggarts in Glasgow. Hire car ready to be picked up also!
Great service so far but I'll await a fix and then report back.
Cheers

Check your brake lights. If a filament shorts it can cause a cascade of faults. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

mine did exactly the same, i was accelerting up on to the M61 yesterday morning got yo 70mph and got a loud ping from the dash, red light lit similar to the DSC light but in red and the message centre said suspension system fault do not exceed 30mph, i pulled over and did all the usual stop start and it seemed to reset itself, so i carried on my journey.
1/4 mile down the motorway the suspension seemed to drop and the message apeared again, only for the suspension to raise again very slowly to normal ride level.
Again another 1/4 mile and the same again by this time i am at 30mph in the slow lane looking for the next exit to take me to williams in the centre of manchester.
Cracking service manager Gary got my car on test book at 0830 and had me back on my way an hour later.
They said that the fault was down to cross articulation of the suspension (i have just fitted 400 miles ago a new set of 19" RR sport alloys with 255/55/19 pirelli atr's) and that the fault could have been caused by the new wheels, they re-calibrated the system to run the 19" wheels. I am not really sure that this will cure the fault or if the wheels were actually at fault but there was no charge and i was back on my way within the hour so well done to william's. Great service but a little confused as to what the cause was though???????? Disco TD5 Commercial (now gone)

have to add that the suspension was raising and lowering itself from normal ride level to what seemed below access level and slowly back up again.
didnt like the skate board ride at its lowest setting or the scraping of the multi-height tow pin every time i hit a bump in the road.
to me it felt like the system didnt have enough compressed air to maintain the suspension movement.?????? Disco TD5 Commercial (now gone)

could it have been caused by the tyre fitters incorrectly jacking the vehicle when they fitted the wheels?????? Disco TD5 Commercial (now gone)

No, the vehicle would adjust to the correct ride height within 90 seconds assuming all the doors were closed
The only way to diagnose it correctly is start by getting the DTC's from the vehicle

This is exactly what mine did last year. Took em ages to get to the bottom of it, they told me it was a combination of multiple ride height sensor failure and something to do with compressor exaughst/exit valve.... or some like that. www.Bitter-sweet.co.uk
