Around any group of canal boaters there is always a big debate about toilets.

Toilet refers to personal grooming, bathing, and washing, to combing or arranging one's hair, shaving, etc. This sense is preserved in '''toiletry''' 'personal grooming item' and ' toilet bag .
A Lavatory is a place in which to urinate & defecate.
At sea, and on the water one refers to "Heads".
