Worn Balljoints and bushes. |
|
Just been for 3rd service at 42k miles on 56 plate manual TDV6 (out of warranty) and been advised that I have the following issues pending:-
1. Both front Lower Balljoints worn.
2. Nearside Steering Rod has play in it.
3. Rear Anti roll bar bushes worn.
The quote to fix all by dealer is £800+
Can anyone advise if any of these issues are DIY-able?? Workshop manual/method/instructions would be most welcome.
If so, are there any upgraded (polybush) bushes available for these areas???
Cheers,
Phil.

We had all that done on our 57 plate under warranty before it expired, local dealer may be expensive, but at least they are thorough!
Nick, need to phone you and order bumper reflector and sat-nav disc you quoted me for about 2 months ago! if I ever get off the conf call from hell... expect a call, should push up your sales for the day but a fantastic amount, seem to remember that reflector was at least £10!

Sorry didn't mean to mock with comment we had it done under warranty, what I meant was you should at least try LR customer services, these are all well known faults and maybe they will do a goodwill gesture?

But I live on the East Side, and your a West Side, so won't that start a gang war?
Wife likes to reverse into posts on the offside/right side... if you have a spare I could take it off your hands but new ones are so cheap and I need some other bits from Nick so not that cost saving probably, but thanks for offer!

They didnt do mine under warranty (deafening chorus of wear and tear!!!)
Even sent an engineer out and he said no!!
LR Warranty Select = great Andrex, soft , strong, and vvv long!!
Arnei8 you will probably need a 4 wheel alignment after that lot - approx £75.00 from a local specialist.

That's why I tool the £600 or £700 they wanted for extended warrenty and shoved it mentally to one side in case its needed for repairs
Its a bit like the lottery, I must be several grand up by now having never bought a ticket

Dug deep and found it , although the lug on the back is broken , lense is ok but would have to be glued in to keep it in the bumper I guess
Cant imagine new would cost much but yours if you want it
