Worn Front Suspension Bushes

Hi all.. put my Disco 3 into the dealer for a wheel alignment this morning. The car has done around 75,000 K and they tell me they cannot align the beast because of wear in the tie rod bushes and lower control arm bushes. Talking around $2500 to repair it. Cannot believe that the POS can clap out so fast.

Anybody else had this and have you had a non land Rover fix for it. Cannot see any point in replacing these if they are going to clap out again in another 70,000 K.

I have never owned a car that has had so much go wrong with it in such a low distance travelled.

Cheers

wow - thats a lot......
My 05 se with 95k on it is booked in for its lower arm bushes - both bushes on both sides, replacing and a re-alignment next thursday - all for £225 + vat at my local independant.

even with the exchange - seems a bit steep of the old pocket !!

It get more interesting....

I took the car to an independent LR mechanic. He tells me that there is nothing wrong with the tie rod ends and that only the bushes need doing. He showed me an invoice for another client, new bushes, rear brakes and service. $1300

The dealer also suggested doing the pads and rotors while they had it.. or very soon. The independent guy had one look and said they don't need doing. At least another 20,000 k in them, probably closed to 30,000.

So.. I now have an new place to get my car serviced in Brisbane.

Bye bye dealer.

How did you end up with the fron t end work?
I had nearly all the front end replaced for that amount.
