Hi there,
Hope we are all well and dandy?
As I have mentioned before I now recieve the suspension warning light and the info centre saying I cant travel the suspension, but now we have a noise.
Coming back from Torquay on Saturday with 5 up and trundling along we noticed a strange rumbling noise following the speed of the vehicle, slowing when we did, and rising when accelerating.
It appears to be from the passenger front side, a smidge back from the engine, and sounds not dissimilar to an airbus taking off.
Had a good look round and cant find any oil or dangling stuff that shouldnt be there.
Anyhoo its at an independant specialist this Thursday so will report back on them and it, but if you have any ideas????
Cheers. All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.

Hi Bigdave,
Simple things first.
Have you checked the tyre pressures?
If the pressures are OK, swap tyres front to rear and see if the noise source changes.

Hi Peter,
Yep the tyre pressures are a1. The noise is still apparent when it's stationary.
I'm just hoping it's not an engine problem but it has only started when the suspension warning light has, coincidence?
Thanks again, bad luck at Lords!!!!

The fact that you state it still makes the noise when stationary, and is also related to road speed confuses me a little. If you had said it only makes the noise when moving, I would have said wheel bearing. The fact that you say it makes the noise when stationary and you have a suspension warning makes me think air compressor.
It is in the black plastic box, on the passenger side, mounted to the outside of the chassis rail, in front of the rear wheel arch. If it has sprung a leak, or a pipe has detached, or the air dryer has exploded then it will result in the warning light coming on.

Hi Gareth,
Had a good look last night in that area. Couldnt find any leak or obvious pipes/tubes disconnected.
Had a run to Northampton this morning and the sound is only really discernable whilst slowing down to a stop.
Strange I thought maybe turbo but that stops spinning around 1800revs I believe.
Curious - Im still leaning to the air compressor, although all the way back from Northampton the warning light didnt come on.
~I will report back after Thursday when my indy garage has had a shuffle through the old girls oily bits.
Thanks for your reply,

Hello or G'day.
Worrying new noise problem solved!!!
Mechanic has called to tell me it was the front near side bearing, and in his own words, FUUBAR!
More when he finds the suspension warning light fault!!!
