Xenon Bulbs in Standard Halogen?

Can anyone tell me if these can really be used instead of the standard halogen?

They look like Xenon style halogen bulbs (painted blue to give that blue/white Xenon light). Maybe filled with Xenon gas to make them brighter.

The LR bulbs are clear and require a completely different headlamp unit with required starters etc for a real Xenon bulb.

The LR bulb is also a completely different shape / design. Assume other manufacturers Xenon bulbs are too.

These will not be HID bulbs like the lR ones... but would I imagine be far better than the standard bulb.

HID's are like these...

Apart from not being road legal and quite possibly giving off too much heat they're never going to be as good as real Xenons

I can sell you a set of real Xenons headlamps complete with the real bulbs for £400 Whistle

Thanks for the info, think I will be giving them a miss.

Also thanks Slimer for your kind offer, will just stick with the poor man's halogen! Razz

Best bet is to go for Osram Silverstars or Osram Nightbreakers from www.powerbulbs.com or another supplier. I have the Nightbreakers and there is a massive difference between standard bulbs and these. They are also road legal, cool temperature and won't degrade the plastic lenses.

I have the nightbreakers from powerbulbs and they have indeed improved the light, but is there any better bulb I can use for the dipped side of the lights...??/
