These are fine for UK & Europe, there is no means of adjusting them for driving on the left or right.

I know others have had similar problems with EU garages which are not familiar with this type of headlight, and have had to educate the tester !
Hope this helps.
Let us know how you get on.

I altered mine with the leaver in the headlamp (D3 HSE) and they failed the CT (MOT). I did came across an article stating that the rules have changed and the stick on deflectors would be acceptable.
But I can't find it now to show the test station because he is not moving at the moment.

And so did I Al.
But no.
My headlights are 2015+ non adaptive Xenons, and there is indeed a lever attached to the Xenon bulb unit that moves it between the flat and normal beams.
I know, I have skinned knuckles from adjusting it!!!
Phillip, cheers.
But, I just had the unit out on the dining room table. The lever in there does nothing for the light, it releases the clamp that holds the bulb in place and that is all. there is absolutely nothing to change the orientation of the bulb. I will get it back out and take a piccie.
Hmmmm. Thats the lever I moved
Maybe mine was in the loose position and hence the kink up? What I can tell you is that my beam is now flat, and I have no issues with getting flashed

Have justbeen outside and done the following
This is for my Xenon lamps.
1, measure up from the floor to height at centre of bulb. Note height 'a'.
2, Lights on to dip. Park car right up to wall.
3, place a vertical piece of tape with its right edge where centre point of bulb glow is for each lamp
4, reverse car back ten metres, so front of headlight lens is ten metres back from wall.
5, place a horizontal piece of tape with its lower edge at height 'a'
6, align both left beam edges and drop beams from line 12cm which is the 1.2% downward angle required.
7, go for a drive to see how it looks.
All looks good, no light up on the left. However the flat beam of these is not quite corect. Each beam pattern from each bulb is a flat line from the right, it does step up about 12cm at 10 metres away from the wall then continues in a flat line to the left.
My Ipad flares out so i could not get the picture.
In the UK this is fine as the kerb is lit, not so good here as the step is into oncoming traffic but i have adjusted the lamps to stop this. I do not get the verge on my right nicely lit but oncomi g traffic no longer gets my beam.
Back to the test centre to orrow to see how it goes.
But flat beam with Xenons my . The lamp housing even has LHD stamped on it so i suspect the lens is particular for LHD.

went back to the test centre. still no good.
The level is now perfect but the garage man showed me on the machine the beam pattern.
These are not a flat beam pattern, they clearly kick up to the left for driving in the UK. he states they need to kick up to the right for France and suggested that I turn the bulb or lens to manage this to save replacing the whole thing. Looking online they sell both L and R hand drive versions of these lamp housings which suggests the whole they can be used anywhere thing is not right!
Awkward one. I am going too have a cuppa and look at them again.
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Right. I had another look at the lamps.
On looking in to the lamp there is a metal template that runs across the front of the lower half of the bulb and then rises up on the left, i presume if you buy the car in France this rises up on the right.
Initially i thought that if i lowered this and kept it down then i would have a flat beam pattern and i could use the lamps. Brilliant i thought.
However on looking a bit further it appears ( and is so, i checked while flicking the lights between high and low beam) that this template lowers when you use high beam exposing the full force of the bulb.
I am unable to see any other adjusters in the housing so can only presume that these lamps are not suitable for use in the eu nor can be adjusted for use.
I am very happy to be proved wrong...please!

As I understand it, the auto high beam settings on the dash only change the camera settings that are used for light detection (cars coming the other way or the rear of cars in front).
I dont think it changes anything on the headlamps itself-there are no motors in there to move the bulbs.

Stepped template as viewed through the hole the bulb goes in.
Gear that raises and lowers the template when you use high beam.
Sticker on housing (denotes LHD) that suggests i am indeed screwed and will need to buy new headlamp units!

Thank you Phillip, after looking at all this that does make sense. And would be logical for temporary use abroad.
Odd though that my model appears to have no adjustment whatsoever to travel abroad.
You say that the car is a 2015 D4, but I note the sticker on the light says 14MY, could this be the issue?

I am actually now tempted to remove the lens from the headlamp and access this template from the front and cut the stepped part out of it making the whole piece at the same level.

Issue 1 of the 2015 Discovery 4 Owner's Handbook, extract above, says that no adjustment is required.
It appears from the sticker that your headlamps are for a MY2014 car, did you buy it new?
If not could the later headlamps have been swapped out before you bought it; or was the car actually built in MY14 but registered later?
Possibly worth looking at the TOPIx Vehicle Summary for your car?

Bought new so yes probably built earlier. But, does this have any bearing on the issue. I ask as i have no idea.
Sticker also shows January 2015 if that has any relevance.
The fact that the handbook says no adjustment is required probably explains why there is no apparent means to. And for temporary use abroad that is probably right.
