Xenon Light Fault

I recently fitted (last year) a set of Xenons to my D3.

I noticed that one of the little shutters in the driver side light is sticking open, i.e. the one that dims the main light when the headlight is turned over to dims.

Anyone come across this before and know how to fix it?

Any info much appreciated Thumbs Up

Usually a warranty replacement I'm afraid. If less than a year old then Thumbs Up otherwise Sad
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hi Thomas,
I believe that sometimes the shutter sticks through lack of use. A cheap solution may be to continuously switch between high & low beam (preferably when the garda are approaching you). This may free the shutter (or at least give you time for contemplation). Whistle

Best Wishes,

My left one stick if I don't use it a few months and I get it moving by switching from main to dim and back a few times.

I tried switching it between high and low beam, but it takes about 20 seconds for the shutter to react.
This time span gets longer the more I do it. It is bizzare, I cant fugure it out.

Not sure if this has been resolved as yet but what you can do is swap the bulb over to the other side of the car. This will help determine if the bulb lies with the bulb or the power lead. Hope this helps.
