Welcome to the Disco 3 forum drexarchos
You can only replace the standard lights with Xenon units if you have air suspension. Coil sprung models cannot have Xenons fitted as the lights will not self level & could / would blind oncoming drivers & therefore be illegal.
Have a look at this thread for a discussion on the above……

Would it be possible to fit xenon headlights from a left hand drive vehicle as I understand xenons have a switch for either left hand drive or right hand drive?

Mmm good question
There is indeed a switch, or more a lever, on the back of the headlamps !

One for TFC or TLO.
And if between them they don't know Rob Smith
Silver rools OK
I think you'll find only the UK spec Xenons have the lever to change direction, so a LHD pair will most probably be LHD only. Maybe one of our continental members can confirm?

LHD xenons
Is there a definitive answer as to whether LHD xenons would fit a UK car?
The part number is PART NUMBER XBC 500402 for the offside headlight and PART NUMBER XBC 500412 for the nearside headlight.
I am informed there is a switch on the back of them would it be to adjust the light?

On a RHD UK spec D3 , with the headlights on dip, a portion of the light kicks up on the left, illuminating the kerb area . The switch/lever moves a shutter that makes the dip beam flat topped, with no kick up for driving on the right. A LHD vehicle has as standard the kick up on the right. I understand the later D4 has a flat topped dip beam and no adjustment needed.
And if you need pictures regarding the lever, see the initial post in this thread.
Much easier with the lamps removed, as you need child-sized hands and a degree of wrist flexibility otherwise.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
