My problem is keeping the connector on the 2nd exhaust - I just can not get it to hold and therefore stay UP
Does the X-Jack not have a non-return valve where the hose meets the jack? The Takla has its faults, but the non-return valve means once you've got air in, it's in until you want it out again.
I keep meaning to spend some time on a revised connector bung to help connect the hose to the exhaust but at the moment I'm run ragged with other things. It needs a threaded tube with a larger bore than the bung, but sourcing suitable parts without ending up building everything from scratch is proving troublesome.
One day I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It was made by somebody in the USA.
In an Irish mans thread. (That speaks Strine very well)

I'll post some pics of the x-jack. It does not have a return valve so that would be my problem - I'll look through the directions and search the bag, but I don't remember seeing any type of valve. 2007 LR3 HSE - Zermatt Silver

so if the X-Jack doesn't have a non-return valve, the simplier exhaust jack by bushranger won't either I suppose ... D4

I've got a bushranger one I've had for about five years. it has a non-return valve. You have to turn it to let the gas out. Have a nice day!
