What is the usual running voltage once starting and having ran for while?

my d3 varies from 13.6-13.9, is this too low? as i've seen a few posts that state it should be around the early 14's

Wife has taken the car to work yesterday only a few miles from home but had no issues, but i have a feeling if she goes around 15-20 miles it may happen again as it did at the weekend

I would not be worrying about that. It could be higher in the right circumstances, but it could also be lower! So long as it’s turning over strongly, I would not get overly worried about that voltage.

I think she needs to bite the bullet and go for a drive, to test the brake bulb theory.
