Well its been confirmed that I wont get the XS to Tuesday or Wednesday, would have got it on Monday as planned if I had given them the cherished plate details a couple of days before..
Must admit I had to contact the dealer about it although he did mention to me the delay could be possible, but I do now have a bit of a feeling that the sales man has moved on and his job is done type thing. A bit disappointed in that, the answer I got yesterday was that delivery would be Tuesday or Wednesday and he would let me know. I mean there's been over 44 grand spent here....not to mention that I'm excited as a kid at Christmas..e
Same here, but I'll have to wait until next week til I get mine .........bloody DVLA

You have more patience than I would have, I'd be driving around in it now and take it back when the plate transfer is ready

So much for the 5 day turnaround here,
And so much for the dealer's worse case scenario of Wendnesday (I was told this what will be 2 weeks tomorrow)
I've been over looking at it too, shouldnt have bothered...
ronp, how long have you been waiting now, a lot longer than me I think?

Did the deal on Tue 8th March.
To do the plate transfer the dealer has first to send off for a blank log book.
This came in on the Friday ..... but they didn't do anything with it !!
Wasn't til my wife passed the following Tue and saw the D4 sitting in the exact same position with no prep work being done.
It's when she queeried that they then discovered they hadn't actioned the blank log book with the request to transfer my private plate .... so I lost 3 days because of dealers inattention [salesman off sick was prob case].
Did go to the dealer on the Wed [made appt with Sales Manager] and told them if they couldn't be bothered then just to stuff it.
I calmed down and carried on waiting ....... and I'm still waiting !!
Getting a bit pieved off with it all now ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Much the same here I think.
Did the deal on 29 January, told them at the time I had a cherished plate, remembered about this and took all the stuff required on Friday 11 March, they had to apply to Land rover for a V55 and was told that I should get the car with the registration roundabout original delivery date Monday 21 March worse case scenario 23 march, yesterday, phoned today and was told just that delivery wouldnt be today hopefully tomorrow. I suspect that the v55 either came late from Landrover or as your situation it has not been quickly processed. The v55 was supposed to come from Landover roundabout 15 March....

Don't know how they can tell you "tomorrow"?
They won't know until the docs from the DVLA land on their doorstep ....
... and that could be anytime 'hopefully' ?

Will be picking my new D4 up on Monday morning but with a 11 plate and then once the V5 arrives will transfer the private plate on. I opted to do it this way as my dealer told me that they had to get a form from LR before they could register it on a private plate and sometimes there could be a delay between getting the form and the DVLA acting upon the request.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

ronp, I think the "hopefully" is that its due to come in...I wouldnt have done it but I was told at the time it was a 5 working day turnaround. Tomorrow will be 8 working days allowing for a couple of administration days for the dealer. Today I was told that it was 10 working days by another sales man as the is the guy I'm dealing with is off. I won't get my hopes up for tomorrow though.
WOODY179, On Saturday the 12th March my dealer recommended that I do the cherished plate transfer and the worse case scenario was that all would be complete by yesterday..

Well I guess the moral of the story is if you want a cherished plate on your vehicle (transfer from another vehicle) dont do it if you want it fairly quick. My vehicle has been sitting in the dealers since Monday 21 March, they have had the paperwork from my side of things for 2 weeks to date now. I was told on the 11 March the DVLA are doing a 1 week turnaround, allowing for 3 days administration for the dealer this has now been 7 working days that the DVLA should have had the transfer documents.I have contacted the DVLA myself and they have come back to me just saying that the cherished plate is still registered to the other car, got some more information from me and said they would be back, we will see what they say, maybe they will ascertain when the application was made. At the moment I cant point the finger at the dealer or the DVLA but certainly timescales advised by the dealer have been wrong.

Sorry to hear that
Still heard nothing from my dealer, so "no news is bad news" afaic.
Recall when I got my D3 that it was only a couple of days for turnaround.
That included Private Plate .... but it wasn't being transferred from one vehicle to another....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Hi, well I spoke too soon, dealer called at 4pm yesterday to say the car was ready??
I now have my Discovery 4 XS Santorini Black with spare wheel and reversing camera, what can I say, its an epic car, only drove it a few miles last night but well for want of a better description, its great.....
Just need to get familiar with all the bits and pieces now, want to get the dogs in and go...but better wait till I install the dog guard..
Drove in the dark last night and I find the halogens bright and very adequate.
Going to let the wife drive it this morning
ronp and ukdave I wish you all the best and hope you have yours real soon.
