My year old Goodyear Wrangler HP’s are noisy😳

Is it just me or has anyone else running Goodyear Wranger HP found they are really noisy once worn. Mine are probably on about 5mm now. I know it must be tyre noise as just had new bearings and front diff oil change. Plus all running gear checked and spot on. So what would those in the know recommend for a decent quiet summer tyre. Cheers all and Happy Easter.

Pirelli All Seasons with noise cancelling.

Are you Goodyears worn evenly?

Asking as uneven wear can create more tyre noise.

Try moving the wheels around diagonally so left front ends up on right rear etc. This should wear the ridges off that have formed causing the noise. The noise may be worse when first swapped though.

Wranglers in the winter. Divanti for the summer. I can hear a difference.

Wranglers have always been noisy but usually from about 4 mm down.

Yep Thumbs Up on approx 4mm now. Got a spare set of 18in rims so going to put on some summer tyres, remove these Wranglers and also get som decent A/Ts for the winter.

For me, those tires wrangler HP, are rubbish, I use them many times, always for reasons beyond my control, and they have always gone bad and have lasted very little

You are doing it the wrong way round! 18” for winter as they handle pot holes and rough stuff far better and 19” for summer when hopefully the pot holes have been filled in. Thumbs Up

If you rub the flat of your hand over the tread of the Wranglers you will feel a flat on the leading edge, this is what causes the noise, swap them round so the flat is on the trailing edge and the noise will not be there. You will get another summer out of them, fit winter tyres to your 18” rims and new summer tyres to 19” rims Thumbs Up

ps. I’m good st spending someone else’s money Laughing

You’re spot on just rubbed the tread and yes a flat on the leading edge. Job for tomorrow to swap round👍 Both my sets of alloys are 18’s so one for AT,s and the others for decent summers. Just out of interest I have 2 virtually new Goodyear Efficient grips 255-60-18’s and they are quiet. So just need to get another 2.

Depends on the speed rating of the tyres, I've used 111V's and 111H, the 111V seem a LOT quieter.
