Yet another round of applause for the guys at GAP
Attempted to update the BCM ECU via the IID today, for some reason update aborted half way through.
Pulled the fuses as per the manual but all to no avail and further update wouldn't work.
Lost interior lights and locking and although all dash lights worked nothing happened on the turn of the key as if it was immobilised.
Email conversation with Patrick, who was able to replicate the problem at his end and thereafter requested I update the IID to a special update.
Updated and retried the ECU update, happy to report, updated first time and vehicle back up and running all working as it should.
Customer service second to none. Give yourselves a pat on the back (pardon the pun)

Exactly the same issue issue with my previous diagnostic tool. Their response? Nothing wrong with our equipment...
Its by far the best piece of diagnostic kit I have used, and the technical assistance is just as incredible My D3 Build Thread

Which is why one company "thrives" while the other one "dies"

Just glad I picked the correct company.
Had two other not cheap diagnostic readers for earlier Land Rovers and once you bought them you were on your own

Yep I agree as well. Unfortunately I also have the "other" one, which might just turn into a glorified blue paper weight, when I decide to take the plunge and buy one from Gap.

I dismissed the "other" one when I was looking for a route to diagnostics pretty quickly due to almost a defensively aggressive response to anyone's that wasn't an instant expert and had a reasonable, to them, question. GAP are the complete opposite and couldn't help enough for techies and us non-techies alike.
A few peeps have made comments that when members sing the praises of GAP we are their usual sales peeps. No, when kit works brilliantly, is easily usable and the back-up is second to none the it's worth shouting about.

I spent a not inconsiderable amount on the other one for multivehicle D3/D4/Rrs
To be fair to them, they were the pioneers of being able to do these updates that LR couldn't and I spent many years generally happy using their kit on customers cars.
The criticism of how they manage customer issues and the apparent lack of desire to listen to customers who want something working on modern platforms that fit into the modern world is, unfortunately well founded.
So hence I have 2 x IID Pro tools and the 'other' one sits in the old laptop bag and hasn't really seen the light of day for 2 years....
every issue or inane stupid question I've asked of GAP has been responded to and either fixed, added to future wish lists or told not to be so stoopid!
A good product, with great support, what more can you ask!? (Btw, keep asking them as they keep on delivering the goods!)Bodsys Brake Bible

All in a days work
Of course, and I can't say it enough, it's a team effort from all members of GAP. Customers do play a key role in providing feedback and as per Bodsy, recommendations
