121 viewsthis shows the fridge on the 2 x 180kg sliders. i had to slightly modify the door opening to fir the fridge hinges thru. I just gently bent it, and fitted additional seals, hence it can easily be returned to standard. having the fridge in the kitchen is a major bonus, plus the back door of the trailer is now used for easy access to the cavernous interior, whereas prior to this youhad only access thru the front doors, which are only 500mm wide11 May 2009
gas stove slides out under fridge110 viewsvery useful mod - youdon\'t have to unpack anythinig to be ready to cook. the stove gas is piped from the rear of the trailer, ie. the standard gas cylinder. pipe goes thru grommets along bodywork, and uder the fridge. works a treat. the door adds shielding in high winds if need be11 May 2009
142 viewsraised susspension - this i bought from the factory, so I assume you could order a trailer with this fitted. only necessary if you are fitting big tyres like I have. the axle is a standard alco axle which I ordered from alco with blank hubs. hubs were machined to accept LR studs. Wheel centres had to be slightly machined to fit over bearing caps11 May 2009
fitted stronger rear strut holders. not a great mod. the holes i drillled for the "R" clips are the best mod, as they stop the legs from sliding up under pressure. requires bracing inside to stop chassis bending103 views11 May 2009
Fitted "echo" drawers in one of the front doors. an almost perfect fit, just a little sheetmetal work needed. the cho guys would probably vomit if they saw this107 views11 May 2009
built fridge slider in front door (as opposed to rear) which makes fridge available at the kitchen. Also added drawer for gas stove - stows easily under the fridge when not in use. can be used independantly of fridge, ie. whether fridge is pulled in or ou116 views11 May 2009

Himba maidens, a couple of hours past Ruacana border212 viewsKingsley stopped the convoy when we reached a fine place to camp. We met the local Himba chief, who we invited for a feast. Inflating the boat at Foz180 viewsBruce had 2 Gemini inflatables on top of the Defender, with 2 engines in the rear compartment. Inflating the boats took about 30 minutes. The plan was to cross the Cunene and greet the miners on the Namibian side, which is where the Outside Edge expedition had left off a couple of weeks prior - they couldn\'t cross the Cunene in Land Rovers, so they had to go around - a detour of some 2000km19 Jul 2007

In return the kids from the destination schools wrote messages back to the SA kids. Very Cool!19 Jul 2007
