4 Wheel alignment after changing wheels

Hi guys, I've got some 18" Tuffant steel wheels on order. I'm hoping to use them (with BFG KO2) for longer trips abroad etc, and use the standard 19" alloys and tyres for general day to day use.

My question is, should I get a 4 wheel alignment done after changing them over each time?

Thanks in advance.

No, the wheels on the car have no effect on the suspension geometry.

If the geometry is correct, it will remain so even with different wheels.

How often will you be swapping them over? If it's every few months, then an alignment check isn't a bad idea - the alignment can get knocked out over. If you're swapping them every couple of weeks then no.

I tend to get the alignment checked every 6 months or so as a preventative maintenance thing really.

Do you keep a note of how much correction, if any, is required at your 6 monthly alignment check?

I ask, as with my D3 I did this but in the end came to the conclusion that once a year, after off-roading during the shooting season was sufficient.

With the D4 I must confess to having missed last year's alignment Embarassed although it was done earlier this month.
