Advice please on FBH- non working and remote or not?

I recently bought my 09 Discovery 4 HSE and asked the salesperson whether the FBH came with a remote. She said no. Then a helpful forum member kindly sent me the full spec for my Disco and the spec included a remote! So I ordered one of of EBay and had to return the car to the dealer as they missed some points on the PDI. I also asked them to check the FBH as I had not got it to work and while they were about it, programme the remote. They told me they could not programme it as there is no receiver fitted and they could not test it as it was not cool enough. A few cold nights and I know it is not working from the timed climate function on the Nav screen.

Questions please

1. On the Nav screen there are two timed climate settings and two manual settings for vent and heat. The manual buttons are greyed out and not functional. Is this normal and what models have them working?
2. Is there any simple check I can do to check for faults in the FBH (fuse 2 is ok)
3. Can the receiver be fitted retrospectively assuming that the dealer knows whether there is a transmitter or not.
4 Can a transmitter if fitted be seen through the removable boot side panel (where the jack lives) or does all the trim have to be removed

Of course if it is not working, I could take it back to the dealer but it is a 120 mile round trip

No probs Smile

Brian, if you have the receiver (location as above) then there is a pairing procedure to get the fob to talk to the receiver.

If you do have the receiver let us know and I'll dig out the procedure.

dont think brian has got the receiver

brian if you think you have got the receiver fitted go to the fuse box under the bonnet as your looking at the fuses from the front its the top right hand side one 5a pull it out for about 15/20 seconds then put it back then within 5 seconds push and hold the off button on the fob if you have the receiver it should pair Thumbs Up
