Most importantly as NigelTheCat has said get the car very carefully checked all over by a LR specialist indy. If you don't know one ask here for recommendations.

Still got to raise my weeping transfer box as an issue with the dealer when it's in next month. Did you get a resolution?

Don't think its been mentioned the electronic parking brake works! As mentioned check the stop start works, good chance it needs a new battery (which is a separate battery to the main battery) if it hasn't already had one. Check the yellow diesel misfuel reset tool is there! Might never use them, check 2 headsets in their bags and remote control for the rear passengers. Lots to think about, have a good look at that shiny paintwork as well, when I bought my landmark, like getting blood out a stone with the salesperson.
find a steep hill and test the Hill Descent Control ... if it's long enough you can check if steering wheel cruise control + - buttons adjust the speed, but chiefly listen for odd noises. if it just sounds like the brakes being applied brutally for very short bursts it's fine but it shouldn't make anything sound loose..

Hi,
Take some sandwiches with you that fit in the centre armrest
By the time you have had an hour's road test and gone through all the items to check you will need them and a break

Sandwiches were a good recommendation it was a good 2-3 hours we spent there!
Overall it seemed like a great car and all the tests/checks were positive. The sales guy impressed me he was knowledgeable about the off-roading controls demonstrating how they all work and at the same time not pushy, allowed me ample time with the car to look through everything.
History wise it was originally sold by the dealer, only 1 owner and has been serviced yearly since then, most recently this month, but in the first few years closer to 18k miles rather than 16k miles. Salesman advised me the LR warranty has tolerance of 3k miles and it's all OK.
Changing between modes and heights all seemed to work fine, only thing I noted was when in Neutral, then low range, then going into 'drive' there is a bit of a clunk. It didn't sound bad so I put this down as normal.
HDC I wasn't able to test as there were no steep hills for me to try it on.
Stop start was functioning so believe the battery was OK - when I kept braking while stopped S/S would kick in, but if I put on the park brake and released the pedal brake the engine would start again - not sure why it would do that? In comparison to my Audi the engine would stay 'stopped' until accelerating again.
Both the yellow diesel misfuel tool and the green light around the gear selector was not something anyone had brought up to the salesman in his decades... (I did warn him I had a thorough list )
Turned out the green light was not working so likely needs a new bulb.
The diesel misfuel tool he'd never seen either, and we couldn't find it in the back with the jack etc. Hoping this isn't a wild goose chase and is something that came with the D4!
As for issues noted -
1. Permanent LR towbar is attached. I have absolutely no need in towing so I've asked for that to be removed. I'll be keeping hold of it as I understand it might be ok to resell?
2. Various minor cosmetic bits, scratches, stone chips, interior mark
3. Cruise control didn't seem to work, no green light when pressing SET.
4. Rust underneath - seemed to be mainly on the side steps but does look ugly for a car only 5 year old. I think this is something I'd just have to deal with as it's certainly not going to be replaced by the dealer
Obviously none of these were dealbreakers so I'm due to collect next week. I enjoyed driving the car and the comfort levels are in a different league to what I've been used to in the past. I do still plan on dropping it into an independent for a second opinion.

I have a MY2016 Landmark and I can confirm the diesel misfuel tool is not required or included on that model year.
Yes, taking your foot of the brake pedal will start the engine - that is normal.
The Clunk going into drive happens on mine also, I would say it is normal.
I would be concerned about the cruise control and insist they sort it!
The green light failure on the rotary gear selector is quite common but it is not just a bulb change, the complete module must be changed.
Rusty side steps also common, I changed mine and gave the new ones a coat of black hammerite before fitting them.Gone 2016 Landmark D4

Firstly, well done for staying with it and working through that list. I was worried we may lose you with that lot.
The green ring light is not a bulb! The reason I raised it is that from my learnings on here, it is an electronic component on the circuit board, and the fix is to replace the gear selector with circuit board. This is a £300 part , plus fitting. ( hence important to sort).
That rust does look more serious that I would expect, but I’m no expert.

And I also have no misfuel tool (2016 model year car) and my stop start starts again when I lift my foot off the brake even before touching the accelerator.Gary

I raised it just before the extended warranty ran out. The dealer had the car for about 10 days, and then tried to return it without having done anything on the grounds that the weep wasnt bad enough. I had taken photos of the oil on the casing, and argued that there is a leak, the warranty is about to run out, and they just wanted to avoid doing it. They did cave eventually, I dont think it was the dealer that was the problem, I think it was the warranty company. I dont think i would have succeeded if I hadn't had the photos.d4 HSE

Exactly right. The reason they haven’t seen it, is because they have only sat in cars that have the fault (it’s quite common) or they haven’t noticed it because they don’t sit in the car in low light.
Just for clarification, do the headlights need to be on for this to work or not? It’s been a while since mine worked ( fixing very shortly) and I’ve forgotten.
Make sure that you shade the gear knob area when confirming it’s working. Might not show up in bright sunshine.Gary

Lights don't need to be on for the surround to glow
Had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago as part of the extended warranty.
There is no longer a yellow misfuel device as it's now built into the flap but there is a plastic funnel that should be included for opening the diesel flap if you need to top up from a can. MY16 Landmark - Yulong White

Their stance is they will change it, but if there is no green light afterwards I'll be stung with the cost (£480).
I'm thinking to just leave this and take it into a LR dealer closer to home at a later date as it should be covered under the LR warranty.
Mine was replaced under LR warranty although sometimes warranty companies can refuse if they think the fault existed at the time of sale and that the supplying dealership should have sorted it.
You may have already seen this, but if not it might be worth sharing it with the dealership?
