I had one fitted for a short while but found it really clunky so took it out. Others have faired better.

Just have a look in search.

If they use OEM display I think they used GFIV with something like Netplay box.
I bought it at Naviplus and installation not hard so u can do it by yourself but price almost same.

Anyway this is most useful mode in my D3

I'm considering it too, just a lot of money to drop on CarPlay.

I recently had a hire car and I have it admit it was great to have easy access to music and nav. The D4 has decided now that bluetooth won't automatically start playing music, so I have to start it going manually. Not such a hardship but by the time I realise I'm normally on the dual carriageway.

Only the naviplus option has an adapter to allow the steering wheel to control the media though so I'm leaning towards that one.

I asked Naviplus when bought not wireless version about steering whee control and they send some resistor for checking possibility that can work. Its should be connected it between Netplay and SWC wire but it was working without resisters.

You need only one wire from Netplay to pin 18 in C1354 connector in Audio Head Unit and set up buttons in Netplay factory menu (not gvif)

After upgrade to wireless version I also bought SWC buttons adapter and it works little bit slowly than direct connection.

Hi, I used Naviplus kit http://naviplus.com.au its simple GVIF and Netplay box (this box connect to iPhone or Android and provide video to Satnav screen via gvif also touch screen works too but u need some skills to replace flat ribbon cable Smile also price is very high.

They answering via email very fast and send instruction as pdf but all connection is easy. I have buildlog with photos, but its on Russian language. You can read translated (thanks google) version via THIS LINK.

btw - unfortunately you should use AUX for output, but sound quality is fine.

Update..

So I have been using mine for a few weeks now.... It is in all a great product.

I have experienced drop outs in wireless CarPlay when driving under high voltage power lines (happens at the same place every journey) but aside from that its very stable. This happens only on wireless CarPlay. If its hard wired via USB/lightning then this never happens.

To make it work perfectly I have had to drop the Land Rover connection entirely. I have deleted out the bluetooth connection to the car and rely solely on the unit. It connects on unlock so is ready to go on start up. If you have the phone connected to the on board bluetooth it gets confused and this has been cured by deleting the Land Rover connection.

It renders the onboard display useless really but that isn't an issue if you are happy to run on CarPlay at all times.

The best feature is the ability to tune the sound via the 9 band EQ.... I have the premium Meridian and it was heavily biased to the bass/sub. I can now lift the sound using the EQ so I have a lot more staging.

If you use tune in /spotify/ apple music then you will be happy......as long as you have an unlimited data plan of course!

You can revert to DAB and the onboard phone if wanted but the Nav is gone forever (no loss!) as that is the input that the CarPlay takes over.
A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
