Can i install an aftermarket head unit if i have H/K Logic 7

Hi all,

Been looking into installing an aftermarket head unit in place of the nav/4x4 screen and ive been seeing people saying if you have logic 7 its not as easy, however these people were talking about replacing the audio head unit, i plan on leaving that in place and just replacing the 4x4 unit so i can have apple car play and i will just use the Aux to play music through the speakers, would this work?

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Sol

Yes.
I think most of the screen replacement units use the aux connection and keep the original head unit.
Use the search function on here and you will find loads of info about this. Thumbs Up

I did mine (Got a RRS dash in mine, but original D3 head unit) very simple fit, I didn't use Aux, but screen transmits and just set one of the presets to receive.

I tried however i didnt find much the search function is so specific lol, however i assumed that as long as im not replacing the actual Audio unit id be fine however saw somethings that wasnt specific enough so felt a bit wary.

What about the CanBus connections if i were to remove the head unit? would i just have to leave them dangling?

Cheers mate

Removing the top LCD is fine. Just bypass the orange optical fibre most bus. Loops available on eBay.
