Check Engine Warning Light

I had a warning light come on tonight, the "Check Engine" one, but in the instruction book says its for a petrol engine, so i opened the bonnet and 'checked the engine' and did take note it is still the diesel 1 i had and all looked present and correct! I dont seem to have lost any power or performance and it still drives normally.
Has anyone else had this or can shed any light to the possible problem! I am guessing i am going to be makin a trip to the stealers monday morning! Sad

Only time I "saw the light" was after my EGR codes had been cleared by LRA. Was told it's fine to drive unless the light comes on . . . .

Light came on, on next journey. Went to Dealers Rolling Eyes

i havent checked it, but its had a good run today so shouldnt be running low unless there is an underlying problem emerging from somewhere! I'm hoping if i leave it overnight there may be some pixies come along and fix it to save me a journey into Sheffield!
Maverick and 90 cheers for your help, if she is still poorly on monday ill take her to the stealer.
Do you suggest i done drive it till its sorted? or should it be ok?

I'm a bit colour blind but been told its amber, which is what the instructions describe it should be, it also says if it flashed to stop and seek assistance but it is constant so i am guessin it is a minor fault at present which shouldnt damage anything until monday as long i dont go 'too far'

I would call LRA personally. They will come out to your location, plug a laptop in and tell you if it is safe or not. They will also clear the fault code if it's a one off. They may even fix the problem Thumbs Up

Number is in the car Mr. Green

I have rung LRA and they told me it isnt a critical fault and i can carry on driving and take it to the dealer at the first opportunity most convenient to me! For a minute i felt the grin disappearing but its back Mr. Green

Just to update this, the light has been on and off this week and finally paid a vist to LR, Aparantly it is EGR Valve which is on backorder so it has yet to be replaced under warranty, but been told i can still drive the vehicle! If it causes any problems they will have to sort it! Also while there, they had adjusted the EPB under warranty without me even telling them that the brakes were squeeking when i set off!

Thumbs Up to Guy Salmon in Sheffield, just hope the valve comes soon so normal service can be resumed!
