Cracked rear light ?? Will it pass MOT and is it Original ?
Reversed into an empty skip blamed the wife !!!
She wasn't even in the car !!! Lens is cracked but everything works fine can probs seal it with some glue. Will it pass MOT all in one piece but crack down the lens, I had an e class estate with a hole in the rear lens that kept passing ????
Also if I have to replace the the rear light unit is the one on my car original ?? I believe it probably is as I vaguely remember going to see a friends new 2008 Audi Q7 in 2008 and the people who lived across the road had just taken delivery of a 2008 disco 3 and Iam 99 percent certain it had the rear lights and faired in exhausts and body kit ?? Can anyone confirm if led lights as per picture where available on 2008/9 cars ??
Also on a side Note Amazon Prime SciFi series Trident has anyone noticed the gorgeous black discovery/LR3 used in this series !! Interesting that it's set at least 30 years in the future and they have used these cars ?? Would love to find out the thinking behind it all. I can't find a still of the cars online but they have some crazy led lights fitted. Would love some info or pictures if anyone has any.
And to everyone out there that helped with answers on my brake pad warning message it went back to the garage for a new rear caliper and miraculously they fitted and new lead and everything is all sorted now.
Any recommendations for who can do a gearbox oil change in Lancashire/Merseyside/Manchester area think I would like it done with the Wynn type pump out pump in method it's supposed to be much more efficient ????

If it had got that hot, I hope they changed the discs.
They are not original for D3, just a popular upgrade. If you replace it, you will need to check where they have the resistor wiredJoined the BMWX5 45e group

They are D3 LED lights
Not very common, and very expensive, unless you can find a spare unit in a breaker/ebay etc
However, being LED units, they will still illuminate the required colours, so as long as there are no sharp edges, it'll still oass an MOT

Stick some clear film over it and ensure no sharp edges on split line and it will be fine, may get an advisory but would see that as 'pedantic' TBH.
Have had 'old bangers' pass with no issue on cracked lenses. If its 'holed' and showing wrong colour light through any hole then you should expect a fail

Yes caliper and disc changed !
Thanks on the light, I knew it was original because I actually did see a Disco 3 with the rear light cluster in 2008
Will see if I can get a screen shot of the black discovery 3 from Netflix they look great

Don’t go looking at the front light modules - xenon with AFS was 1000+ each

As long as the lights work as they should, and no white light is showing to the rear of the car (except reverse lights obvs) they should be fine for the MOT. Cracks and even a bit of condensation is not an issue1994 Defender 300tdi 110 commercial
