Is it ok to drive in high mode with F35 removed? Ideally I’d like to move it about 200yards if possible, or is it best left where it is?

Can’t see an issue as long as you stay below 30 mph

It’s been 10 hours and the suspension hasn’t dropped at all?

Reservoir has a leak... pretty common due to rust around pipe plug

Ive sprayed some soapy water around the pipe wind of the reservoir and it seems ok. It looks in pretty bad shape though so it possible it’s leaking from somewhere else.

It's the top of the tank that usually rots!

A build up of road film and crud sits on top which becomes wet, eventually eats through the thin walled reservoir. If you have diagnostic tool you can see the pressure in the tank falling! If not, and the leak is bad enough it can be heard leaking if you lie alongside the passenger front door.

Engine off of course and tank filled (ie raise susp until compressor cuts in then lower to normal height and switch off engine as soon as the compressor stops filling)

If the compressor does not stop the leak is bad and should be easy to detect.

I can’t hear anything, so perhaps the leak isn’t that bad. Apart from the compressor running every 5 minutes or so, I sometimes hear a little hiss of air as I’m driving. It sounds like pressure being released from a valve (short burst) as opposed to a slow leak. This could be normal? And I’ve just never noticed it before now as I’ve become super aware of all the noises this car makes!!

The only air leak you should be hearing is the exh valve when the compressor reaches the end of it's cycle.

You obviously have a leak somewhere, and the reservoir is usually the "go to" culprit for leaks. Though it could be anywhere in the system including the compressor itself.

Your best bet is to get diagnostics on it and or a mechanic who knows these vehicles. The one who fitted the compressor should have spotted there was a problem!

In fairness, he changed the compressor and told me he needed to do a leak test on the system but I wasn’t in a position to leave it overnight. So it’s due back in on Tuesday, I was just trying to diagnose it myself.

Ah! It'll get sorted then so.

Incidentally, what compressor did you have fitted, genuine or aftermarket?
