Best I've had is 36.6 to Kent on my way to the croisiere, 70ish on motorway then M25, imagine Whistle then throgh France, 80,90, max was 110, playing games in convoy, Italian Job, passing choc hobknobs etc. (ask Non Stick Nick), got back home with 31.5.
I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

I am averaging 23.5 with a general mix of driving.

If I fit my roof rack it drops to 21.0 or less.

The highest sustained average I have ever achieved is 27 mpg. It was hard work to get this!

The worst tank range I have ever had without the caravan is 310 miles then the light came on, the best ever is 475.

With the caravan (23ft Elddis Crusader) I average about 18mpg.

Forget the display, as others have said, measure mileage from tank full to empty etc, my display shows around 27 when the true figure is nearer 25.

A full tank can squeeze 75 litres in, divide by 4.454 to convert to gallons = 16.83, total miles on the tankful divided by 16.83 = true mpg

My tank is 83'ish litres Confused I've had 78 in it on a refill - better to brim it, do what ever mileage you do then brim it again - that second brim full is what counts

I feel so much better after reading this thread. I was starting to think something was wrong with my right foot or the car.

I am averaging 25mpg but if on a motorway run it may get up to 30mpg. I am running on AT2s.

23 to 25 mpg driving on A3/M25, I have feather footed it on one journey and had 29 mpg.

I find the acceleration joining the motorways sucks the juice. The car certainly performs best at a steady cruise adhering to speed limits. I very rarely use the D3 on those type of jouneys.

Incidently my 5 litre V8 merc gives very similar fuel consumption, car is much lighter and faster though.

It's acceleration that cripples the mpg (obvious init). I live in a valley so almost every drive I take means that I'm going up or down the side of a valley, stop/ start at a junction etc. Driving locally and I'll get about 18.1 mpg. Driving to work in Newport through Cwmfelin Fach, Wattsville then past Risca on the dual carrigeway (with 4 roundabouts) and then on through the STW (more 40-50 mph dual carriage way and lots of roundabouts) and I can stretch to 23mpg. Managed to get to 25mpg on the M4 once, but that's not the flatest road around either between Cardiff and Bridgend.

You boys in England don't know how lucky you are living on a billiard table. Very Happy

Mind you, best I've ever seen was 54 mpg downhill, just after I'd re-set the trip!

I'm still 'running in', but the on-board computer reports 27.5 mpg for the first 300 miles. Driving has been on rural roads and spread over a few journeys.
