The ASFIR diffguard seems to be an inch or so lower than the exhaust pipes. Does it only seem so or is that really the case? I am a bit concerned that I might be giving up too much ground clearance.

On the other hand I definitely will kill my exhaust one day if not fitting one ... Neutral

It is a bit of a plough, sitting about 2" below the exhaust as you mentioned. Haven't been offroad yet where I haven't ended up clearing it out afterwards with a metal bar and a jetwash but it seems to do the trick in protecting the car.
 I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
