Disco 3 – Height Issue.
I’m in the throes of buying a Disco 3. But I need the following question answered before making commitment.
The specification for the Disco 3 gives the minimum height as 1,837mm (air suspension) and my garage access is 1,950mm that gives me a delta of 113mm and a worse case scenario of 1,890 (integrated roof antenna) giving me a delta of 60mm. All of this is a bit close for comfort for me.
Does anyone know if the Disco 3 ride height can be lowered even further to allow me a better comfort factor while accessing my parking and of course driven at the same time?
Unless you let the tyres down. The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

In access height you will be fine, BUT if your entrance to your garage is on a slope (downward slope), the 'true' height needed may be different due to the longer wheel base. If you're on an upward slope into the garage, then you shoudl be fine.
Can you borrow one from a dealer to take home to test?Bodsys Brake Bible
You could modify the location of the ride height sensors to trick the car into thinking it's higher than it is, but this would also leave your car lower when in "normal" height (which will impact on ride and handling) and would compromise offroad ability by reducing ground clearance.
Is the access to your garage level or ramped? If it's level then 1.95m is fine. It may be close clearance, but it's still clearance and I've taken mine through this height on countless occassions. Just remember to lock it down into access height (move height switch to access and hold it there for about 3 seconds until you hear a bong).I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You could always take off the antenna bulb - it's only used for the wired PTI (not the bluetooth) so if you don't use that they it can come off to give you more breathing space.
Be confident of the lowered height. Just remember to actually lower every time.
Here is a picture of my Disco with roof rack on, suspension locked down and on the top deck of the Ghan train about to go 1500km from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Disco measured 1.93. Height limit 2.00. It looked very tall up there.
All arrived safe and sound 18 hours later, TDV6

Letting the tyres down - not an option
The entrace to the garage is sloped down and of course the contrary on exit. However, I have just noticed the garage entrance in the next apartment block has 2m head room, 8) so I may have to enter/exit via the next apartment block. The dealers are so far out of Monaco that I'm not too sure if they would be intrested, I will ask.
I will keep you posted on the outcome.
And thanks to everyone else for there valued input

People might work out they only have one bridge design in the northern territory. I'm sure these two are a couple of hundred km apart. Or yours is on the other side of the planet.
The locals near Alice would have those sheep on a pile of hot coals before the camera was up to your eye.
Scary about the similar landscape thoughTDV6

I have spent the last week in and out of an underground car park with a big, heavy steel set at 1.90 to 'discourage' you from crashing in to their a/c ducts. I was slightly concerned first time round but used the air suspension and alpine roof vision to crawl under with about 2cm clearance over the antenna. I would have loved the 1.95 barrier. You should be fine providing you don't put a roof rack on!!!. Alternatively, stick a couple of gold bars in the boot!D3 Zermatt Silver TDV6 HSE (have)
