Chris Hagain wrote:Just completed this modification today today, my D3 sat nav unit was toast, and the cost of updating was actually cheaper than replacing the D3 unit and got the benefit of newer maps. Also left a space under the seat, so fitted the UHF/VHF radio base unit under the seat
Thanks to Galvernised nuts for the guide and Pete K for advise
Simple and easy to do although a little daunting, but read the guide a few times prior, and things went smoothly, glad you mentioned about the Range Rover logo.
Does anyone have a code for the plug (reversing camera) and connector pins, so I can complete the installation

Greetings one and all!
It's been a long time since I posted on this site, but replacing the D3 SatNav with a D4 system is exactly what I need to do to my 57 Reg HSE. However, I don't have the ability to do it myself, so could someone please recommend a member / company who I could pay to do this? I am in Surrey.
Thanks in advance.
All the best.......BFP

Heads up for anyone after the plugs. The 6 pin reversing camera plug is a Molex 30700 range
Molex 30700-1060 Plug Receptacle. 6 pin
The Female Terminals are TE CONNECTIVITY / AMP 1393366-1
I think the Same range is for the 14 pin plug as well Molex 30700-1147
Farnell have the receptacles for a couple of £ but only sell the terminals by the 5000... but I have found the terminals on ebay for £4 for 10.
Just FYI...

Hi All,
Wiring up the reversing camera.
So got the 6 pin grey plug which I know you run the signal and ground wire to, however is one of the pins a +VE feed that I can link up to the camera or should I take this from the reversing lights ? My camera has come with a cable that has the option of running the +VE all the way along the cable to the front so I can have either option.
Thanks.
Chris.

The 6 pin does not have power. All video input
Don’t connect to reverse lights. That won’t work best (the camera input stays active for 10 seconds while parking - if the camera has no power, screen will be blank)
One of the wires on the other plug can be used BLUE or the rear of cigar lighter
I recommend you run it thru a 1 or 2 amp fuse
or the blue wire an the antenna amps can be used.

OK Pete, So the camera should be wired up to an ignition +VE so the camera will always be on when the car is running although won't display until reverse is selected....?
