The only thing I wish it had was a lock button on the boot. Typically the boot is the last thing I shut so I tend to lock the car by pressing the lock button on one of the rear doors.
As for the fob, well I occasionally use the light button for front or rear illumination. As for the boot button on the fob… Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

What I tend to do is when I get out of the car lock it with the handle button and then walk around to the boot which will open (because you have the key on you) but the rest of the car will remain locked and when you shut the boot that will lock automatically Cheers Ian

As for carrying the key, I use a neck lanyard and leave it hanging. I never have to look for the key because it is always there and there's little danger of leaving it in the car...... or pockets are good too My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

So I could read the manual, but I will ask the question. On my old D3, if I wanted to leave the vehicle for a short time with the dog in the back, I would press the lock button on the fob twice to lock the vehicle, but disable the interior alarm sensors.
How do I do this on my 2013 D4?

Gareth, the manual is not that clear so you have not missed much.
As far as I can tell in this regard it is the reverse of the D3:
With dog / kids in car press once - doors lock but can be opened from inside (for those with opposable thumbs), alarm activated but not the interior movement sensor.
2nd press - interior alarm is also activated, doors double-locked and cannot be manually opened from inside or outside.

It's contrary to what has been said on here (and I think in the handbook too), but on my D4 it's two presses if the dog is in the back. Any time I've done one press, the alarm will go off. Two presses and no problems.

Robbie is correct, Press once to single lock the vehicle. All doors and the tailgate will lock (but can still be unlocked from inside) and the perimetric alarm will arm (not full alarm)
