drivers door wont open

went to b&q today and got a sheet of ply,put it in the back, and drove home with the tailgate half open, when i got home i could not open the drivers door it is locked !
i have tried disconnecting the battery to try and reset it but it makes no difference.
i think it is dangerous apart from anything else, you would think you could open it from the inside !
is there anything else that can be tried before a trip to the dealers?????/
thanks
Dave

Hit the unlock button on the dash and pull the lock bit on the door!

or push the little black locking tab on the door handle in slightly then try opening the handle. Only time mine ever went loopy that did the trick . . .
