Hi all, I changed the rear discs and pads on Saturday, just pasted, the car wasn’t used much over the weekend but it was used with no problem the wife to it to her work yesterday 16 mile round trip with no problems she is just back from her work today (16 mile round trip) and the near side was hot enough to burn the coating on disc and you could smell brake shoes but I could touch it. EPB works as it should and the off side is perfect?

Any comments would be great thanks in advance

I’d start with backing off the handbrake adjuster on that hot side. If it’s definitely the shoes rubbing and not the brake pads.

I don’t want to adjust the wrong way, to back off is it towards the spring or away?

Tighten is towards the spring, loosen is away from the spring.

Depends what way the adjuster has been refitted

We've seen hundreds of them fitted backwards...

Sounds silly but if you turn wrong way disc won’t turn as you’re forcing shoe on drum. Ie putting brake on. There is a method in bodsys brake bible a worthy download
