Fast indicators after fitting disco 4 front lights
As above. I've fitted pre facelift disco 4 headlights into my 3 and now my indicators are flashing fast on my dash but ok on the actual indicators. They don't look like led bulbs, look like just normal bulbs, so any ideas why they are behaving like this
Thanks
Glen

That is the sign of a circuit issue. Correct bulb type? or chinesium?

Not looked at the bulbs but they do work. It's weird how it does it both sides. If it was a bent pin or bulb issue I would have thought it would have only done it on the affected side

Ok, so I've just realised that the lights I've put in dont have the cornering light that comes on when you indicate or turn the wheel and my old ones did. Would this be causing the fast dash flash does anyone think as it's not seeing enough load due to only lighting one bulb and not two. If so, does anyone know a work around?
Thanks
Glen

You will probably find they have led indicators. And you need to fit load resistors.

Known issue when retro fitting LEDs, particularly the rears. You either live with a fast indicator on the dash - I did or you fit resisters.
Personally, I would ignore it. You do get used to it quickly. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

I'll check the bulbs but from what I could see they looked like normal bulbs. How would I tell if they are led.
Thanks

Don’t know if this helps, but I had this issue on my 2016MY D4. It was caused by damage to connections going into the back of the connector that pushes into the back of the lights. Might be worth checking those wires are all damage free and pushed in properly after the work you’ve done.
Good luck sorting.Gary

I doubt it will be the connections as they were perfect with my old lights. It's only been since I fitted the D4 lights in. I'm going to look at the bulbs and if they are not led which I don't think they are, I'm going to change the ccf file to say it doesn't have cornering lights and see if that fixes it.
Thanks all for the replies

Actually I will check that because I might have pulled some wires out when I disconnected them. Thanks for the heads-up.

You could also refit 1 light loosely and check the fault goes away

Does that look like an led bulb. That's what I got in there. Thanks.

That is categorically not an LED bulb. It is a standard incandescent filament bulb.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
