I was hit up the rear in my Audi some years ago at a roundabout by some young lad in his Mum's car - he admitted it was his fault - well, not a lot of choice really as I hadn't moved.
Hate to think what it cost - I had a hole punched through the bumper = the front of his was in pieces. I had a very nice 2.7tdi A6 for the 2weeks in was in being repaired. Mark.

Dont take this the wrong way but Ive always said tesco sell crap everything, to prove me right just try anything tesco branded from your local store!
Why people shop there is beyond me

I fully agree Tesco is not great. But in my town we only have 1 big store Tesco and all our small shops are 1 stops owned by Tesco or we could pop to the Spar 50% owned by Tesco. They havre got it pretty well sewn up. We do now try and go elsewhere Our local Lidl is very good and given the choice I quite like Morrisons.
back to the insurance though it would seam that they only do value insurance with the blue stripes. Own brand rubbish lol

We started using morrisons a couple of months back as we have noticed sainsburys cost just kept going up and up, grub okay clientelle interesting

I've never had any problem with tescos insurance
Because I have landrover insurance
You get what you pay for 
If you shop around and get the cheapest insurance then expect "cheap" service Duncan

If it helps, I was knocked off my motorbike a couple of years ago. Its a big adventure type bike so the crash bars and aluminium panniers took the brunt of damage and after a chat with the policeman who turned up and a few minutes calming the crying lady down who hit me I rode back to the camp site I was staying at. I did get a sore knee and did bang my head lightly as I hit the ground.
A few days later my knee was fine and the insurance assessor from the ladies insurance turned up to look at my bike. I told him my knee seemed fine now so I had nothing to claim for there and I showed him the parts the bike would require which totalled about £700 and that there would be no labour costs as I would fix the bike myself. I then said I required a new helmet as mine had hit the ground, with my head in it and while there was no visible damage to it the inner may be compressed and the helmet no longer safe to use. I showed him the helmet online and showed him I had shopped around and could get it replaced for £450.
You would have thought he would have been happy but he then said "Thats too much for a helmet, we won't be paying that as you can get one for much less".
When I got over the shock I said "OK forget it, I am going to a claims management company and they can sort it out".
That seemed to be a magic sentence which suddenly had them jumping through hoops to get me a cheque as quickly as possible for what I asked for so it may be worth you using the same threat.
As I was more than decent with doing the work myself and not trying to claim for an injury I actually received I expected better treatment and it left me rather jaded about the morals of insurance companies.
