GPS - Laptop

this may have been discussed elswhere on the forum but I cant find it Confused

Is there any way of connecting the D3 Sat Nav input to a laptop. Ive got some of the OS maps / autoroute etc and want to display my position overlayed on the OS map for navigating byways etc.

Especially as you can get your car confiscated if you so much as put a wheel off the tracks.

Better still, is there any way of overlaying an OS map onto the D3 Sat Nav.

Assume I know nothing about this at all Embarassed Embarassed

Thanks
 Duncan

while a good idea, the cheapest (and best) way to achieve what you want is a simple bluetooth gps receiver...I got one for around £30 on ebay and its perfect...use it with tomtom on a pda (when not in the d3) and if you have bluetooth on the laptop, you can use it with anything such as memory map, autoroute etc

my battery powered one uses a nokia phone battery and runs 12 hrs on a charge so don't even need to plug it in...its about the size of half a pack of playing cards
