GPS Speed Camera Detectors for europe

Hi

I have a Origin B2 which I have had for about 5 years I think. It is perfect and works excellently.

However, would like one that includes europe as am driving down to southern spain at the weekend for work.

Was looking at roadpilot micro go, but not sure if it includes spain plus unit is a few years old now.

What I want is something small and neat, like my B2 which fits in the cubby hole below the heating controls with an gps receiver on top of the dashboard.

Anyone got any views on a good one that includes spain and france?

Thanks

Paul

Be careful... Just watched 'Holiday driving Hell'... It is illegal to have a radar/speed detector in the car in France... A couple of chaps were stopped at a routine check and even though they didn't have it switched on, they still got a hefty fine.

isn't that only for the radar ones, not GPS? Or do they not realise the difference?

Good luck arguing the difference with your average Sûreté or Gendarme Shocked

ViaMichelin.com tells you where they are as part of the route guidance, but they are using vans more and more in France now and pretty every RN or A road has coverage now. Not worth the effort any more. Sad

The radar speed detectors also pick up other signals that are nothing to do with speed cameras so you end up getting lots of false alerts. I don't bother with them anymore.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

yep, stopped using them about 6 years ago. Origin B2 is GPS based and excellent but is UK only, just trying to find something for Europe...

Have a look at Pogo alert. Covers UK and Europe, GPS based with detachable laser and a host of features such as it knowing which side of the road the camera is, displaying your average speed through a set of average speed cams and accident blackpost and laser site notification.

I've used mine in UK and France but haven't tried it in Spain yet.
