Indie recommendations - West Berkshire / South Oxfordshire
Hi folks,
I'm looking for an indie service shop in the Reading / Newbury / Oxford area. There seem to be plenty to choose from nearby - Four Counties 4x4 and Rovertune are probably the closest. Others I've found that are not too far are MiD Engineering, Henley 4x4, 4x4 Matt, Newbury 4x4 Centre, Greaves 4x4, Wantage 4x4, and Frogs Island 4x4 Workshop.
Any experiences with any of these shops pro / con?2016 Discovery 4 Landmark black
I used Rovertune and they were always very good. Only con was that sometimes you had to book quite some time in advance.

I've been using 4 counties in Peasmore for the last service and recently new handbrake inc unjamming the control unit, mark knows his stuff and very reasonably priced 👍👍
I stopped using Newbury 4x4 after they (without warning) charged me an admin fee for dealing with a warranty direct claim, I gave them the chance to put it right but they stood their groundMark

I have used Rovertune since owning my D3 - two years. Customer service is good, workshop is well kitted out, and their tech knowledge is brilliant. Most importantly for me, they recognise I do my own work and are more than happy to support me, I haven't had this experience at many garages.
Labour rate is pretty reasonable too.LR3 MY05 TDV6 2.7 HSE - 130k

Sounds like Rovertune, MiD and Four Counties all come recommended.
Four Counties is probably closest, Rovertune is also close and MiD is near my kids' school. Looks like I have plenty of options here.
