Metallic clatter on steering

Just bought a 06 d3 and have already changed front rear lower bushes and fitted new brake pads.
But now need to get to the bottom of my next problem.
When turning right at a junction I.e. At slow speeds a distinct metallic clatter can be heard. It sounds like it's coming from the offside front wheel area, have greased the hub stops to see if that helps but no difference.
So my thought are either cv joint, track rod ends or wheel bearing but after jacking up the car can't see or feel anything.
Any thoughts on what might be the culprit and are all of these problems within the realms of a D.I.Y. Also what are the rough costs for parts or if it has to be done by a mechanic how many arms and legs will I have to forfeit.

Try the lower steering column, about £80.00 and half hour, (2 bolts to) to swap it!

Another forum member has recently reported that the chassis has cracked where the steering rack bolts onto it. Photographs never appeared but it's something else to consider.

That's right; The chassis on a 7 year old Land Rover has cracked. Shocked

Checked and now think it's the cv joint .have ordered new joint and gaiter so will know soon if it's fixed.fingers crossed but it does seem to be the culprit

If it's not the cv joint, check the wheel bearing. I had a metallic clatter on my D3, that eventually turned out to be a bearing. As it sounded nothing like the typical noise from a bearing I was surprised.

Hello Mart.
It is some years ago, but I will ask if you had solved the clatter noise problem.
I have the same noise at my Disco. With headphones you can hear it n the video while accelerating.
