I've been using the Miller additive for about the last 2000 miles. No perceptible change in performance, absolutely no change in mpg, but the engine does seem to sound much sweeter. Very smooth running with a lot less clatter, which is nice. Not sure if that alone is worth the money though?

(Also not sure about less smoke either - I never see it!)

I have used Millers diesel fuel additives for years; currently using Sport 4 in the Euro 4 engined 2007 Disco. Probably to the extent that I don’t know what they are like without it.
Have to say though that I sense its effect is marginal with the Disco, possibly due to the sophistication of the fuelling and combustion systems we have. It is very noticeable by comparison in my wife’s Golf 1.9 Tdi., which astounds the MOT station and really makes the engine more refined. In no vehicle have I really convinced myself that the fuel consumption is measurably improved. I have experimented with premium fuels and found much the same results with these; noticable with Golf but not the Discos.
I continue to believe it a wise insurance thing to ensure improved fuel lubricity in case I pick up some marginal fuel. Purchased in bulk, a couple of 5litre cans at a time it’s much cheaper than buying premium fuels so that’s my route. LR of course says no fuel additives but then the fuel suppliers aren’t listening either!

On a simular theme ...has any body tryed "Forte advanced formula diesel treatment".

It was reccomended to me by a mot guy i know.He said if they ever get a car in with high emmission readings , one bottle of this stuff reduced the emmisions by a fair amount.

Suppose to be proffessional use only , but it can be purchased from ebay ( what can't )

Reading the bottle is basically says the same stuff as millers does.

Cheers

Yep, used it in Morocco - great stuff!
It's also used by quite a few LR dealers at service time

Could just be a coincidence, but my fuel consumption has dropped with the Millers in.

Tried this at the back end of last week. If stopped the Disco's 'death rattle' immediately. Not sure on the fuel economy, but I will monitor that too.

Regards,

The car over on RRsport that is using this is an Audi A6 3.0lt and it is only a couple of months old. It was recommended to the owner by no less than Audi. It's either totally rubbish or it is working so well that he has not yet needed to refuel and he hasn't posted again with any comments! I was surprised that he felt he needed to put additive into a new engine.................................
Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

ISTR that a diesel fitter at a firm I used to deal with mentioned this stuff to me and he 'swore by it'. What's the normal price for it before I go looking on EBlag?
