NFU

After reading some good reports on here about NFU i gave them a phone - sounds like good cover and for a reasonable price, but interestingly they could only quote me for a disco 3 as they hadn't heard of a 4 - not on their database at all? Good qprice, but said to phone back for more accurate one in a week or two. Hmmm. Sounds a bit concerning. Confused

I have just had my renewal come through and the D3 is now classed as a light goods vehicle and seems to quote lower rates. They want £468, yet wanted over £500 for my wife's FL2 which does less miles Confused They say most large 4x4s are classed with vans and pickups Shocked

They seemed quite keen to avoid cities - wouldn't put me through till they knew my postcode. I hope the D4 isn't that much more expensive - i tried LR insurance and the quote was double! Big Cry

My D4 is insured with NFU. No problem with model ID. It was an extra £30.00 per year from the D3.

Good to know, Bill. I'll wait till I've got a registration number then I'll try them again. Any difference between NFU direct and the local branch?

Mine is for Social, domestic & pleasure car cover plus Business Use (extra charge). And don't forget NFU also covers you off-road Wink

Mine is a rural office (Crediton) and it's face to face dealing. - NFU gives Gap Insurance as part of the policy.

They will do city locations.....

just as long as your country estate is insured with them already Laughing

I used to manage country estates and when offspring went to uni they'd cover the cars as daddy already had the estate and tractors etc with them.

Damn good insurers in my experience. No messing about after the sheep broke into a neighbours garden, ate every single plant, walked across the pool cover and shat in the pool Shocked

so you just need to buy a country estate or a farm for £1m and you can save on your insurance.
