Offroad Rear Bumper for Disco 4?
Afternoon all,
Long time lurker, first time new thread, so bear with...
I do quite a bit of offroading in by D4, generally as part of the MROC 4x4 Response group, or competing in the British Army Motorsport Off Road navigation series. These latter include some very straightforward (or not in a fully laden D4) RTV type trials sections. This is also my Daily Driver.
Twice in the last year, the departure angle from an obstacle has been such that the rear bumper has detached from the lower brackets and I've had to finagle the thing back into the clips on the rear wings.
Finally, last month at MudMaster, the bumper came almost all the way off, taking the lower tailgate trim section with it. I've now carefully removed the bumper, rear halves of the wheel arch trims and a couple of other sundries, made the necessary repairs where possible and ordered new brackets where impossible to repair.
I am, however, a bit cheesed off with all this. I'm running OffRoad height, with an extra 50mm courtesy of the EasyLift module when this happens, and in theory should have clearance for days, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
I've only ever seen one offroad rear bumper for a D4, and it's this one

The only issues are that it costs about £1,500 in its most basic (but powder coated) form, it weighs about 50kg and it's only sold in the United States of Gun Totin' Misogynist "Freedom"...
Is anyone aware of a similarly up-armoured rear bumper, available in the UK and not ridiculously expensive?

I'm not aware of any in the UK, but i'd imagine a competant metal fabrication workshop would design and fabricate something similar even with a bit of customisation for less than that?
