Oil Leak conundrum

Had an oil leak over last 2 months more, very small amount leaves saucer size stain on road over night.
Checked level with 11d BT at 4.7 ltr.
Topped up level to 5.7 ltr and oil leak has stopped.
Any one got any idea what's going on?

Land Rover Magic ?? Thumbs Up

One of the joys of ownership.
Faults are known to appear / disappear on their own, for no apparent reason.

Yours IS a strange one though, hopefully all will remain well.

Not helpful, I know, but someone else would have said it if I didn't. Smile

Gary_P I like the way you'r thinking. I did look all around that area but no sign of oil.
Today I had a service with new oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and cabin filter.
I'll keep an eye open and see what develops.

Update

Well here we are 25 days after new oil and filter and still leak free.
I think Gary_P must be correct. (ill fitted oil cap).

I once had a Bertone X1/9 and switched to Mobil 1 oil. At next change, I swapped to another brand, same viscosity, same grade.

It Censored oil out some gasket out of sight ... swapped back to Mobil and all good.
